Roadside Services Covered

A complete auto policy combines several coverage types. Mix and match based on your state requirements, budget, and how you use your vehicle.

Towing

Tow to the nearest qualified repair facility or a shop of your choice (within covered mileage limits). Flat tire, breakdown, accident damage — any reason your vehicle cannot be driven.

Battery Jump-Start

Dead battery? A service technician brings the equipment to jump-start your vehicle on-site. If your battery cannot hold a charge, towing to a repair facility is arranged immediately.

Flat Tire Service

On-site tire change using your vehicle's spare. If no spare is available or all tires are flat, towing to a tire shop is covered under your roadside benefit.

Lockout Assistance

Locked your keys inside? A certified locksmith opens your vehicle without damage. Key extraction from the ignition and broken key removal are also covered services.

Emergency Fuel Delivery

Ran out of gas? A service provider delivers enough fuel to get you to the nearest station. The fuel itself is typically your cost; the delivery service is covered by your policy.

Winching & Extrication

If your vehicle is stuck in mud, snow, or a ditch within close proximity to a road, a service provider can winch it out — included under most roadside assistance benefits.

How Roadside Assistance Works

Step 1

Call or Request Online

Call the roadside assistance number on your insurance card or request service through your VKOVR account. Provide your location, vehicle description, and the type of service needed.

Step 2

Provider Dispatched

A certified service provider near your location is dispatched immediately. You receive a confirmation with an estimated arrival time and the provider's name and contact number.

Step 3

Service Performed

Your service provider arrives and completes the required assistance — jump-start, tire change, tow, lockout, or fuel delivery. The provider confirms coverage with your carrier directly.

Step 4

Coverage Verified & Processed

Your policy coverage is verified and the service is billed directly to your carrier for covered costs. Any amounts above your covered limit are your responsibility at the time of service.

Roadside Assistance FAQ

Many auto insurance policies include roadside assistance as a standard feature or a low-cost optional add-on. Coverage varies by carrier and policy. VKOVR advisors can confirm whether your current policy includes roadside assistance and what the specific benefit limits are.
